So. . . . .
Using Flodin's "garlic bread" analysis of human spirituality, would a "prince" be a thick slice of "Texas toast"?
Or perhaps a really nice Jewish Rye with butter?
Cinnamon rasin loaf?
there has always been a hierarchy among elders.
now it's been validated by kenneth flodin in this talk about the word "princes".
so not any elder can be a prince in the new order.
So. . . . .
Using Flodin's "garlic bread" analysis of human spirituality, would a "prince" be a thick slice of "Texas toast"?
Or perhaps a really nice Jewish Rye with butter?

i don't want anyone to take this the wrong way but i use to at least feel smart as a jw.
when i went to thursday night meetings, i at least felt like i was a student, that i was learning how to speak publicly, i could prepare my own comments, i could answer points that i learned from the weekly bible reading.
i even feel like an "idiot" studying for the meetings.
I can appreciate the rant!
My wife feels similarly as you. Everything presented at the meetings is simplistic and dumbed down.
But I think you should feel smart, just for the fact you know this stuff is dumb! Others think it's thre greatest thing since sliced bread. . . .
jworg is carrying a "news" article concerning their recent win of a telly award.. i don't need to add to the jworg website hits, so here is the award listed on the telly award website:.
https://www.tellyawards.com/winners/list/?l=jehovah%27s&event=16&category=3&award=b.
2015 online video bronze winners.
Ok . . .
So I glanced at this thread briefly this afternoon. . .
WTF?
So, really now:
What would be the response if I shared News Update: Jehovah's Witnesses Moving Forward on my FB account with the caption "Watch this Telly-Award-winning piece featuring Donald Trump's son-in-law"?
Oh the cognitive dissonance . . . .. .
okay .... i guess technically they weren't witnesses yet; they were just russellites.
but i still think it is funny that teenagers were heading for the hills to run away from their nonsense ... even back then!.

I must admit, I have a similar "hankering."

let's set aside our differences for the moment and appreciate this excellent documentary cedars put together that should prove to be an invaluable tool in helping to expose the child abuse issues in the organization.. i was humbled to be able to help with this project on such an important subject, though my part in it was insignificant..
in the u.s., three's company was not allowed.
it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.
the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..
Oooooh I've got a good one:
Sesame Street.
My mother would make me turn off Sesame Street when "the Count" was on because he was a vampire and vampires drink blood which makes Jehovah sad.
its saturday morning here on the east coast of america.
i haven't been out in service in probably getting close to two years.
i wake up every saturday extremely happy and thankful im not getting up to go f-ck up my morning and my neighbors morning, not today, not ever again.
l thought this would be an interesting exercise to read the different responses.
my question is what makes you think your gods chosen medium?and prove it.
i've never found dualism - the idea that the mind and the brain are two different substances with the mind being "immaterial" or "non-material" - a valid manner in which to address consciousness or any mysteries relating to it.
to show the reasons why i think it's bad metaphysics i'll use analogous reasoning to make a case for my newly made up "mystic essence".. for hundreds of years scientists have studied plants and animals all across the world.
but they still can't explain where ecosystems come from.
Right now I believe in stomach/digestion dualism.
Something I ate last night is really bothering me.
